The habit that finally stuck after a hundred failed tries
Shared anonymously·August 25, 2026
What happened
I had tried to run consistently for seven years. Every plan failed within three weeks.
What I wish I knew
You do not need discipline. You need a plan that survives a bad day.
What helped me
Shrinking the minimum. Putting on running shoes counted as a run. Two minutes counted as a run. After eight weeks the two minutes wanted more.
What I would tell someone going through this now
Do not build the perfect routine. Build the routine your worst-day self can keep.

A quiet reply
Have you been here too?
Your response tells someone they aren't alone. It isn't a like.
Someone else's experience just met you where you are.
